National Reconciliation Week (NRW) runs annually from 27 May to 3 June. It is a hugely important week for all Australians as it commemorates two milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
NRW is a time for us to reflect and learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements. This year's theme is ‘Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage’. It hopes to encourage all Australians to engage in open, meaningful and truthful conversations about Australia’s colonial history. To move forward together, we need to heal historical wounds, which can only be achieved if our relationships are grounded in a foundation of truth.
