2019 Community Safety Expo

Council coordinates the Canterbury-Bankstown Community Safety Expo every year. The Expo aims to increase community awareness about safety issues, provide a forum for residents to meet local emergency services, and learn how to be safer in your own home and community.

2019 Community Safety Expo

The 2019 Canterbury-Bankstown Community Safety Expo will be held on:

  • Date: Saturday 12 October 2019
  • Time: 9am-5pm
  • Location: Bankstown Central, Centre Court (outside Kmart) - Stacey Street and North Terrace, Bankstown
    (Live motor vehicle accident scenario on Lady Cutler Avenue)

This year, Fire & Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance and NSW Police Force will conduct a live motor vehicle accident scenario on Lady Cutler Avenue on the day. The scenario will give you an insight into the coordination to safely rescue passengers from a vehicle, following an accident.

The event will also involve a live CPR demonstration, safety presentations,  bandage demonstrations throughout the day, beach and water safety information​, performances from local groups, martial arts demonstrations, kids face painting, competitions, giveaways and prizes, and many more. Information resources will also be available at and provided by various stallholders on the day.

There will be plenty of opportunity for residents and visitors to chat with local law enforcement and emergency workers from the NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire + Rescue NSW, State Emergency Service, St John Ambulance, City of Canterbury-Bankstown, and many more, at the various stalls located at Centre Court and on Lady Cutler Avenue.
