Maple and Co is a Bankstown Central staple. It's a great spot for families and friends to meet up for coffee, breakfast and lunch. Customers come far and wide to have a taste of what they’re best known for – pancakes. Their popularity is no surprise when you see they’ve combined delicious food, fast customer service and of course a delightful history.

We speak to Maple and Co. owner, Dianne Voss, to hear her story.

How long have you had a store in Bankstown Central?

Dianne has been in the business for 30 years and has seen Bankstown Central evolve in many ways. During this time, the business rebranded from Mr Pancakes to Pancakes Plus Café and now presently Maple and Co. “My family owned the previous café located at the same site. They bought is when it was known as Mr Pancakes. It’s been 7 years since I’ve jointly owned [Maple and Co.]

What do you enjoy about having a store in Bankstown?

“I enjoy seeing our loyal and regular customers. Many of them I have served for over 20 years especially when 1 generation of customers then turn into 3 generations - it’s nice to see that we are building our customer base constantly”

What is the most memorable moment you have had in store?

You know the pancakes are good when you’ve received a seal of approval from Olympians. Amongst many key moments over the years, she describes one in particular:

“In September of 2000, it was such a great atmosphere in the centre as many of the participants of the Sydney Olympics were housed nearby. It was so fun to meet many of them and feed them. The pancakes and waffles were a hit.”

What items on your menu are you most proud of?

It comes as no surprise that Dianne’s favourite menu is the bestselling item – Pancakes and Waffles. Find out why:

Dianne is also proud of the popular breakfast menu which caters to all tastes.
