Bankstown City Brass was first formed in 1923 and has been operating continuously since 1924. The Band was part of the opening ceremony for Bankstown Square, as it was then known, in 1966, and has been performing at the centre on a regular basis since 2002.
With 32 regular players, the band has been the launching pad for many distinguished careers in brass music. It is a competing band as well as an entertainment band. It prides itself on its devotion to making quality music available to all members of the community regardless of age or ability.
